Kissimmee, FL- Nursery Supplies Holdings has announced a $30 million series of investments in state-of-the-art equipment to expand its Nursery Supplies and Summit Janor businesses. The investments will update existing equipment, expand production capacity and relocate corporate headquarters to Kissimmee over the next two years.
Investments being made in the Kissimmee, FL, Chambersburg, PA, Orange, CA, Jacksonville, TX, and Akron, OH facilities include:
In-line automation and upgrading of injection and thermoforming equipment to provide tag slot capabilities in all facilities.
Rebuilding and refining all in-line thermoformers as well as increasing printing capabilities in the newly expanded Summit Janor mega-manufacturing site in Ohio.
Significantly improving the automation features in wash lines at the Pennsylvania facility as well as adding a fourth recycling wash line in our Texas facility. These enhancements will allow us to maximize post-industrial and post-consumer plastic waste usage in our process and to continue our commitment as the leading environmental steward in the horticulture container industry.
Adding automated printing and in-line tag slot capabilities as well as installing a second in-line thermoformer by summer 2019 in the Florida plant.
Relocating senior administrative offices from Pennsylvania to Florida in order to support the major growth our business is experiencing and take advantage of a location in a major metropolitan area for future growth.
In total, the planned investments are expected to add approximately seventy jobs to our hourly and salaried workforce as we prepare for continued growth in the horticulture container market.
“This investment is part of our growth and market leadership strategy of providing products and solutions for our customers and their customers as we develop new, innovative and environmentally friendly applications for them” said John L. Collins, President and Chief Executive Officer of Nursery Supplies Holdings Inc.
The Mid-Atlantic Nursery Trade Show brought springtime to Baltimore again this January for the 48th annual horticulture show. Covering 300,000+ square feet of contiguous exhibit space at the Baltimore Convention Center, the premier green industry marketplace for businesses took place January 9 – 11, 2018.
The Tropical Plant International Expo (TPIE) is the trade event showcasing the latest trends in foliage, floral, and tropicals in warm and inviting South Florida. TPIE's trade show is more than an exhibit area - it's nearly five acres -- or 17,000+ square meters -- of living and vibrant plants creating a virtual indoor garden of showstopping displays.
It’s a great place to meet with regular customers, greet new prospects, find new plant material and check out new vendors.
The Wintergreen Horticulture Conference and Tradeshow has a well earned reputation as Georgia's premier event for the nursery and landscape industry. Held each January at the Infinite Energy Center in Duluth, Wintergreen is the only green industry show in the booming Metro-Atlanta market. Known for pampering exhibitors with amenities like complimentary lunches and the exclusive Exhibitor's lounge, this year Wintergreen will be upping its marketing efforts and adding attractions aimed at bringing more potential buyers and attendees to your booth. Landscape contractors, retail garden centers, big box buyers and other industry professionals recognize the unique opportunity to meet with suppliers and see firsthand which products will be moving the market this spring.
